[A11316] Unexpected argument: -current

[A11316] Unexpected argument: -current

I wanted to look at the document declaration and I remember doing it before by using the edit command. The Arbortext help specifies:

edit [-newwindow | -ok] [-readonly] [-xml | -untaggedascii] [-encoding string]
[-cc | -nocc] [-stylesheet name] [-catalog dir] [filename | -last | -current]
but when I enter "edit -untaggedascii -current" at the command line I get error message [A11316] Unexpected argument: -current

Can someone tell me what I am missing here?

Thanks,
-Andy

Hi Andy-

I wonder if somewhere in your customizations they are redefining the
"edit" command. You might try "show aliases" to see if there's something
there that hijacks the "edit" command to something else that only takes
one argument.

I use this a lot, and I'm not getting any errors returned. What version
are you on?

Version 5.3m040

I would check on Clay's suggestion; We're using the exact same version
(stupid inline-spell-check "fix") and I'm not having issues with those
switches.

Clay, Jason,

Thanks for the info and the hint, but I looked at "show aliases" and I don't see anything. There are no aliases set unless Arbortext set them.

My setup is out-of-box installation with the following customizations:

* a custom.tmx file in the custom\inputs directory to enforce table top/bottom rules and turn off ligatures.

* pubview.cf in the custom\pubview directory to change magbase to 1040.

* feature.cf in the custom\lib directory to set featurePrintPublishing=on and everything else off.

Ahah!! I tried it on a different computer and it worked as expected. I seem to have a corrupt Editor installation.

Reinstall time.

Thanks,
-Andy
