How to change a DCF file from read only?

Can someone tell me how to unlock a DCF file from read-only.

I am trying to do this from Editor does it behave differently in Architect?

The strange thing is when I open it it does not show as being read only I just can't do anything

Is your DCF file inside the Arbortext installation directory (maybe inside $ARBORTEXT/custom)? If so, you may be having trouble editing because of Window security features that prevent files inside the Program Files directory from being modified.

To make the changes, you may need to make a copy of the DCF file outside of the Program Files directory, edit the copy, and then copy the modified version back into its original location. (You will probably see the UAC prompt, and may need to enter an admin password at this point if your account doesn't have admin privileges on the machine.)

Clay,

Thanks for the reply you were close. Turns out the custom DCF I was trying to modify was not marked read only but a DCF module in the core installation path was marked read only so it was inheriting.

Regards,

Stew
