Some users have requested the ability to have the output of print
preview display the page the cursor is located in Editor. So if the
user does the print preview with their cursor in the middle of the
document, the print preview window will display the entire document but
automatically be scrolled down to show the same area the cursor is in.
In the documentation I found only one reference to any ability to do
this. The help page for the preview command (help 9023) has a note that
seems to indicate that the default behavior is what I'm looking for.
Trying it on my machine, the print preview window always shows the last
page. Is what the users want the default behavior? If not, is there a
way to force it to display the cursor page? If it is the default, any
ideas why it isn't working on my machine (nor apparently the users'
machines)?
I also found that there are menu options on the print preview window to
"Synchronize Editor Position", which is supposed to show in Editor the
location shown in the preview window. The popup menu for this is
greyed-out, and using the menu bar item results in a status bar message
stating "Cannot synchronize; center of view is outside any page
boundary". But the print preview window is showing a full page of normal
text output when I try to do this. Any ideas why this isn't working for me?
Thanks,
Brian
