Hi All
Does any one know if Epic V5.1 and 5.3 is compatible with Windoze 7.

Version 5.3m040 is certified for Vista and I have heard that it works on Windows 7, but I think it takes at least version 5.4m030 to be certified for Windows 7.

Vista and 5.3m040 I'm sure about as I have been notified that my PC will be replaced with a Windows Vista PC and I checked. You can look at the supported platforms on the PTC/Arbortext web site.

-Andy

Thank you Andy, I appreciate the information very much. I guess I will need
to renew my maintenance contract.

Yes. 5.4M30 added Windows 7 support for the following products:

- Arbortext Editor
- Arbortext Architect
- Arbortext Styler
- Dynamic Link Manager
- PTC Server connection for Arbortext Content Manager
- Arbortext Adapter to Oracle CM SDK

John,

Epic 5.1 is not certified to Windows 7 but it may work...

Hi,

We keep an updated Platform Support matrix available on the support area of PTC.com at the following: http://www.ptc.com/partners/hardware/current/support.htm

You will need to select the version (Arbortext 5.4, Advanced Print Publisher 10, and IsoDraw 7.1 for the most currentsupport, or Arbortext 5.3 or Arbortext 5.2). You will also need to supply a username and password.

Arbortext 5.4 M030was the first version that was fully supported on Windows 7.

Thanks,

Susan

Hi Susan,

Windows Vista and Windows 7 offer a Windows XP 'compatibility mode' for older software. We've successfully run Arbortext 5.2 M040 on Vista using this feature.

Could you provide any information about PTC's position on the use of this feature to run older versions of Arbortext on Windows Vista and Windows 7?

Thanks,

David

Hi David,

We currently do not have plans to formally test prior versions of Editor on Windows 7. We are aware of a number of customers operating successfully with 5.2/5.3 on Windows 7.

Thanks

Susan
