Clothoid curve

Dear all,

I'am trying to construct a clothoid-curve in Pro/e. I have tried "curve from equation" but find this not so userfriendly. Can someone support me with some info on this?
How much is a conic-curve off from a clothoid?

Kind regards,

Dennis Varkevisser

Dear Dennis,

The Clothoid curve is defined as a parametric equation using the integral of sine and cosine for its definition. ProEngineer does not have integrals built in to it's equation editor. There are a couple of options that spring to mind, no doubt there are others:

1) Use an expansion series to define the integral. (see

I created a UDF some time ago. Maybe that helps.
