Determining a normal vector at defined point on a face

Hi everybody,

I m user of Pro E Wildfire 20 and i have a tag:

Can we determining a normal vector at defined point on a face ? What is the options?

Thanks for you responses

It's possible, but you'll need a few other construction features to get
there. I did this recently and I required a point and some planes and
curves to get to where I could define an axis that I knew was normal.
What you need will depend on you specific situation & geometry, I think.

Sorry, I looked up that model and I was wrong. As long as you can get a
datum point on the surface in question where you want it, you can define
an axis as through that point and normal to the surface.

Dim,

I had to do this for a previous client. Here is how I did it:

. Create a Datum Point

. Create an Axis through the Dtm Pt. normal to a surface of plane

. Change the length of the Dtm Axis in the display option (see
attached JPEG)

For this project, I was given laser scan data that needed to be created as a
parametric model in Pro-E. They wanted to know the location of the mounting
holes without creating the actual hole (to be added later). So the solution
was to create an axis normal to the surface at a defined length.
