I have been looking forward to the M020 release.

The calendar originally stated M020 would to be available on Nov. 18th along with the first ship of creo layout 1.0.

On Nov. 18th creo layout 1.0 was removed from the schedule leaving creo layout 2.0 available sometime next spring. The creo parametric M020 ship date was moved to Nov.28th and that has now passed.

The last minute scrubbing of the creo layout 1.0 FCS launch probably required some tweaking in the creo core. We will be lucky if M020 or a tweaked version of it is available before January.

Jim, can you at least give us an update on when we should expect M020 now that the scheduled date has come and gone.

Looks like it showed up today. I spoke too soon.

I got a call from PTC on a patch I'm waiting for, it got pushed back because of:
The developers site had some major networking failures and were unable to proceed on schedule.
Sorry about any inconvenience, we tried to tell them the schedule had been slipped once already, but the problems they faced were a showstopper.

Any major issues/bugs with Creo 1.0 M010?

I also need to confirm which version of Creo will work with Windchill 10. I thought it was Creo 2.0 but I could be wrong.

Creo 1.0f000 is compatible with WC10m010
Creo 1.0m010 is compatible with WC10m020

Wildfire 4m190+ is compatible with WC10f000

Creo/Elements/Pro 5m080 is compatible with WC10f000
Creo/Elements/Pro 5m090 is compatible with WC10m010
Creo/Elements/Pro 5m110 is compatible with WC10m020

M010 and F000 have a nasty bug with drawing notes. If you have a multiple
line note from a drawing created in a past Pro/E release and you edit it,
It becomes a single line of text. This is fixed in M020. However, in
M020 if you edit a note in the text editor, it adds extra line breaks to
each line of your note. While, the fix in M020 has made note editing less
painless, it is frustrating that the whole problem is not solved.

Ben,

Thank you very much for the valuable information. I don't see how you
guys find this stuff on PTC's site. I can't find anything on there. 🙂

Thanks for the great information.

Can you remove the extra line breaks from the notes in M020?

I know this would still be a pain and slow things down, but I wanted to
know if it's a show stopper.

Also, are there any other issues major issues?

I have 3 people running Creo 1.0 F000 for testing purposes but have not
spent as much time with it as some others who actually deployed it.

Thanks

Yes, the line breaks can be removed from inside the Creo editor. While it
is not a show stopper it is quite a pain. My advice is do NOT use the
text editor. Here are images of a note before and after hitting the
"Editor" button.

I just downloaded and installed M020. It installed the PTC Quality Agent, (which I don’t want), even though I didn’t enable it under the optional configuration Steps.

At first launch it installs a “Creo Platform 1.0”. I don’t know what this is, however if the first person to launch M020 on a workstation is not an administrator it can’t install it, but tries to at each launch.

Creo Platform 1.0 puts .dlls and .creomanifests under the Program Files (x86)\Common Files directory, it looks like something I don’t need or want as well.
