I think you may need to set your filter to FEATURE instead.
When you use QUILT, you're selecting the surface "item" and not the quilt FEATURE.

in WF 1.0, I set the Selection Filter from Smart to Quilts, and pick a quilt. Why can't I use the Hide function on the selected quilt? the Hide button is grayed out, and I get nothing on a right-click menu. That's so stupid.
