I have no experience with Pro-E. What would most people recommend for me to 1. obtain a copy of the software (personal use only) so looking to find best deal. and 2. How to learn the software. (books, online tutorials, classes, etc.) Can I learn this software on my own by playing with the softare and reading some tutorials?? where do i get the software???

what ever you sad is right, now just do it. for the start ptc.com can be good source of information. here is the link where you can get the software for personal use: http://www.journeyed.com/itemDetail.asp?ItmNo=86414903N

You can also get the personal use from PTC. Check under Resource Center>Product Promotions and selct the Pro/Engineer Student Edition link.

Once you get the installation, there are some tutorials offered throught the Wildfire Help Center (http://www.ptc.com/community/proewf4/start.htm) plus PTC has various courses and online tutorials (http://www.ptc.com/products/tutorials/). There used to be some tutorials on YouTube. SDC has a book or two (http://www.sdcpublications.com/catalog.htm#proe). I really liked the FroTime tutorials (http://www.frotime.com/tutorials.aspx). Carnegie Mellon has some nice tutorials set up (http://www.me.cmu.edu/academics/courses/NSF_Edu_Proj/Wildfire_short_course/tutorials.htm) There are others (such as): http://www.me.uvic.ca/~mech410/ProEWF2_Tut_2006/ProE_Wildfire_2_Tutorial-2006.pdf Hope that helps at least a bit.
