Webcast Q&A

Question from AdamHow are the lattices represented in large assemblies?  Will they slow down top level models due to a large increase in surfaces?

Answer:  It is not a traditional pattern so once created will not need to regenerate.  You have added a lot of surfaces so that might slow down graphics but there are simplified representations to help with that.

Question from Adam:   Does the analysis only run stresses?  Or will it do thermal, electrostatic, etc.?

Answer:  Structure, Modal, Thermal, CFD - no electrostatic at this time.

Question from AdamDoes the analysis take into consideration Ansiotropic properties of a build, and if so, does it update as you change build orientation?

Answer:  This simulation does not.  We do offer Process stimulation though.

Webcast Q&A

Question from CChanging the imported custom part will update the Aircraft model with lattice shape imported?

Answer:  Yes, a custom lattice is fully associative.

Webcast Q&A

Question from JoeWhen defining a custom lattice, I heard you mention that a new part (defining the unit cell) is selected.  When doing so, does the "part" show up as a sub-component in the model tree?  And will the selected unit cell part create a child relationship (meaning the primary design part will always need to see the unit cell in order to properly regenerate)?

Answer:  The lattice is a feature within the model tree.  The area in which you create the lattice is a function of the features that come before it.

Webcast Q&A

Question from MichalCan Creo AMX allow optimized shapes in accordance with FEA analysis output by stiffening some areas and weakening others?

Answer:  Yes, the spacing and density is a variable that can be changed as a result of Creo Simulate optimizations.
