Creo Elements Direct Model Manager V19 introduces a new Java File Server.
I am interested in your experience with this new file Server, e.g.
- reasons to use it
- performance of new vs. legacy file Server
- stability
- interoperability legacy/new file servers in a multiple-site Environment
- etc.
Thanks
I am testing a Java File Server right now while preparing to move a 18.1 db to a 19 db. I do not have a multiple-site environment so I cannot speak to that. Once I had the server running I was able to load one of our top level assemblies in 27 minutes. The same assembly takes 39 minutes to load on our 18.1 db and took 38 minutes to load when I changed the 19 db to the old File Server type. This is a big improvement however there are still some issues I am having with the Java File Server and enabling HTTP access which I had to enable in order to install PDM AnyDocs. I am working with PTC support on this and will send an update when I have one.
@MaxR.Kublin Did you ever enable the Java File Server? If so what has your experience been with it?
I am preparing to upgrade from Manager Server 19.0 to 20.1 and am considering using the Java File Server this time.
