Security for Design Share (AR) in Creo Parametric

The goal of this working group is to identify what certifications, protocols, documentation, policies, and/or functionality can help organizations feel comfortable and confident in the security of their proprietary information in order to take advantage of the value found in AR Design Share.

Group members must be willing to actively participate with the group as follows:

Members will share concerns around security of AR Design Share.
Brainstorm ways to mitigate those concerns.
Work with PTC to construct requirements and timelines.

Creo Surfacing (Surfacing (ISDX, Freestyle, & traditional surface tools)

The goal of this working group is to better understand the requirements and use cases needed for Creo surfacing tools that can help with enhancements in future releases of Creo parametric.

Group members must be willing to actively participate with the group as follows:

Define list of requirements needed for improving Creo surfacing tools.
Identify gaps in processes, workflows and technologies
Share solutions from workgroup members, PTC and PTC partners

This working group will evaluate the requirements needed to optimize for given MFG processes – Milling, Forging, Casting, Molding and Additive MFG.

Creo 8.0 – Hole Feature Enhancements

PTC Group Leader: Martin Neumueller

Status: Active/Open (Currently looking for Volunteers)

The Creo 8.0 – Hole Feature Enhancement group is intended to provide a quick communication forum that is intended to help/guide with the implementation of requested hole feature enhancements in Creo 8.0

The main purpose of it is to allow the PTC TPM & PM to quickly reach out to interested customers and get feedback on use case questions / requirement related detail questions or on proposed UI changes along the development cycle.

In that context, we would like participants to

Review and comment on posted approaches
Share their practices around hole feature usage, hole table customizations and hole note callout usage in order to ensure the enhancements take existing practices into account.

The working group ends with Creo 8.0 delivery

Creo Family Table Data Management

The goal of this working group is to better understand issues when working with family tables integrated with Windchill and understanding direction PTC is taking to address reported issues.

Experience and Product Requirements for members: Medium to Expert in working with Creo and family tables in an integrated with Windchill environment. Number of Members: TBD

Timeline: Project should last no longer than 6 months to collect all the information and coordinate with PTC next steps.

Creo Inheritance Assemblies

PTC Group Leader: ArnaudVandeVeer

Status: Active/Open (Currently looking for Volunteers)

This working group is focused on understanding the use cases for Inheritance Assembly type functionality and to discuss the requirements of such new tool.

Participants should be experienced Creo Assembly users, understand the part level Inheritance feature and be willing to share their documented challenges and use cases around Inheritance Assemblies. This group will discuss use cases, requirements, specs, development implementations and provide feedback.

Working Group Duration: 6-12 Months

CAD Symbols (2D and/or 3D Environment)

The intent of this Working Group would be to identify, prioritize, and present to PTC common symbols issues users have with the Symbol Functionality (including creation,maintenance, and placement), along with suggestions on how the functionality could be improved to make Symbols a more efficient tool.

Deliverable: Whitepaper

This Working Group will be composed of a cross-section of Creo users from the PTC/USER Creo CAD, Model-Based Enterprise, and Detail Technical Committees, along with other Creo experts.

Creo Manufacturing

Status: Active/Open: Currently looking for volunteers

Customer Working Group Leader: Komej Nickel (Screen Name: knickel)

PTC Product Management Contacts: Beat Fretz (Screen Name: bretz) and Jose Coronado (Screen Name: JoseCoronado)

The purpose of this customer led working group will be to discuss challenges and areas for improvement as it relates to Creo NC.

Topics for discussion will include customer use cases and needs to enhance Creo NC.

This Working group will include the following activities:

Bring use cases, ideas and requirements to enhance Creo NC.
Demonstrate customer use cases.
Provide early product feedback to PTC.

Group members must be willing to actively participate with the group, as follows:

Share their working practices and experiences
Define and capture use cases and requirements, along with expressing its business value
Evaluate and provide feedback on potential solution ideas

This focus group is to collaborate with PTC on the development of Creo NC.

During the discussion, PTC will work with the group to discuss use cases, define requirements and review specifications.

The group will provide feedback during implementation and verify that the targeted use cases have been addressed. The group will also detail out gaps that still exist.

Creo Family Tables and the Model-Based Enterprise

Status: Inactive/Closed to New Members

Customer Working Group Leader: Ryan Gelotte (Screen Name: RyanAE )

Description and Objective – Identify all of the challenges that come with Family Tables when trying to implement the Model-Based Enterprise versus documenting Families on a 2D drawing. Theses challenges include but are not limited to documenting Families using MBD practices which are significantly different than using a single tabulated drawing, managing changes to each part, how to handle derivatives of the Family Table models, etc.

Deliverable – White paper, Creo roadmap

Duration – 6 months - 1 year, start asap

Working Group intended participant profile, max size – Participants would have a good understanding of current company processes for using Family and how their company manages them in Windchill today. Participants would also need to understand how the Family Table instances are related to the “Parts” that they define and how changes to both the Part and the Family Tables are managed.

Creo 8.0 Multi Body

Status: Active/Open: Currently looking for volunteers.

Working Group Leader: Martin Neumueller, PTC (Screen Name: mneumueller)

Description:

This focus group is to collaborate with PTC on the development of selected key “multi-body” projects during the Creo 8.0 development cycles. During the discussion, PTC will work with the group to discuss use cases, define requirements, review specification and implementation.

The biggest focus area relating to planned development projects will center around the “Inseparable Assemblies (e.g. purchased components)” use case
In addition the working group will also collect feedback on all other multibody use cases covered by the Creo 7.0 capabilities and identify enhancement opportunities for those

Participants should be experienced Creo Parametric users that are currently dealing with work arounds for these use cases. Participants should also be willing to provide example models and additional documentation to illustrate their use cases and requirements.

The group will provide feedback during implementation and verify that the targeted use cases have been addressed.

Deliverables:

Use cases descriptions that can be leveraged to improve the capability in the software focused on multi body design. The group will produce a document with use case descriptions and related requirements, provide example models, provide feedback during implementation and verify that the targeted use cases have been addressed and detail out gaps that still exist.

Creo Solid Welds

Status: Active/Open Looking for volunteers.

Customer Working Group Leader: Joseph Hockett (Screen Name: JosephP)

The team will work with the PTC PM to continue improvements to the solid weld capability.

Participates should be existing Creo Parametric 3.0 users that are interested in created solid welds in their models.

Sheet Metal experience would be a plus. In addition, members must have installed and run Creo 4.0, and have used the solid weld functionality.

Deliverables: Use cases as well as white papers that can be leveraged to improve the capability in the software. Some material was already generated by the TCs. The Working Group will produce a whitepaper and use cases, verifying that all use cases have been addressed and detailing any gaps that still exist.

Composite Design & Manufacturing

This working group is focused on gathering and understanding the everyday workflows, functions & features around Composite Design & Manufacturing and to support and build the requirements of such new Creo product.

Participants should be involved in the design and/or manufacturing of Composite product and be willing to share their current workflow and challenges using “competitive” Composite design and/or manufacturing software. This group will discuss use cases, requirements, specs, development implementations and provide feedback.

GD & T Advisor Best Practices and Adoption Barriers

This customer led working group will be a collaboration of customers, partners and PTC Product Managers. The goal is to work together to identify/define best practices for using GD&T Advisor as well as identify barriers to adoption.
