We are using MKS Integrity 2009. We have a type that we have named Change Control which can have various related tasks assigned to it. We have moments where we need to copy an existing Change Control and want new tasks assigned by MKS.
I have tried to copy the related task's field, but it copies the old tasks.
I have looked at the trigger definitions, but do not see a way to define "if type is copied"
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Hi Jacon,
if I understand it right you like to get a full copy of
a) the base item
b) all related items as well.
c) get the new related items again linked to the copy in step a)
If this is what you want, then you need to enhance the trigger to do so.
Because this is rather an item branching which requires some more steps.

Hello Jason Arnett,
Volker Eckardt is right. This doesn't work without more functionality being added to the trigger. Also, keep in mind that single-value relationships can't point to both the original and the copy at the same time, which might complicate this issue for you.
Kind Regards,
Kael
Thanks for the input Volker. I ended up having to write a new trigger in order to get the functionality that I needed.
Hello Jason Arnett,
If you still need assistance with this, can you please let us know the challenge(s) you are still facing?
It looks like Volker's solution is correct, would you please take the next step and mark this answer as "Correct Answer"?
This way other users reading the thread will know there is a solution, and which answer is correct. In addition, it makes the solution easier to find.
Thank you,
