Hi all,
normally if you wants to connect items via relationship fields, you will have two fields: forward and backward relationship. So if you want to have both directions visible in each item, you have to show two fields. Is it possible to have both directions in one visible field, whcih is still usable by the user in a similar way like the normal ones?
Thanks, Jens
Hello Jens,
we had also this requirement.
What about hiding the second field and implementing a trigger which would always double the entries, that finally both fields are in sync?

Hello Volker,
thank you for your reply, and this way was also one of our ideas, but we didn't follow these thoughts, because of these questions:
1. What about editing both directions in one field? Does this work?
2. What about circle relationships? Are there any problems with it?
Another idea come to my head today (also without any try or proof): Would a QBR-field be a possible solution, at least as a visual replacement? That means that we still have both relationship fields, maybe in another tab, and a QBR-field which holds both directions just as a vizualisation?
kind regards, Jens
Hello Jens,
1. What about editing both directions in one field? Does this work?
It would not matter which field of the pair you display and which you hide in an item.
The Trigger would take care about the other.
2. What about circle relationships? Are there any problems with it?
This is something you can force by a checkbox in the relationship itself. You would uncheck it.
