Hi @all,
we have an item (changerequest), in which the user should add already existing items to a new one. The item has one qbr-field for this and one standard-realtionshipfield. The user should drag one item from the qbr-field to the relationship-field, when he has opened the changerequest in edit-mode. But this drag'n'drop works also in the view-mode. So in the worst case a viewing user could build a relationship accidently. How can we prevent this?
kind regards, Jens
This is known and done by design. In the view mode (in for example: a query result) then dragging one field onto another is a default action for setting up a relationship between these fields.
If the person viewing the content does not have permissions to edit the project, etc. then they will not be able to do this.
Hi Jeremy,
thanks for your answer. This (not your answer, but the problem ) is like many times not very satisfying. We have the problem that many of these "features by design" doesnt match our usecases. I'm always hoping that there would be a flag for this, but then it isnt. PTC should consider to let decisions by the customer, and not by the designer. So this probably would number 300something at our list of not yet processed RfC's with integrity.
kind regards, Jens
Jens,
Please open a case with our support team. I would like to have a senior support rep take a look at this and see if there is any way to workaround this issue, or prioritize a change request for you.
