Which Windchill Software needs to be installed to search for partnumber details.

You may be thinking of index search (which is Sorl from microsoft, provided by PTC).
If so, you need both the index search server and client.

Not sure of your business needs but I would say PDMLink would be the base. Sounds like you should get a complete overview from your rep.
