Migration of Projects from one Server to another

Hello,

we have two MKS servers in our company. I need to migrate several projects from one server (v10.5) to the another (v10.4).

Is there anyway to migrate the projects while keeping the complete change history?

Regards

Daniel

Welcome to the Integrity Community, Daniel!

The easiest way to migrate a project from one server to another is to:

1. Create a sandbox of the project you wish to migrate--this might be a build sandbox, depending on whether you want to migrate the tip of the build trunk, or something earlier.

2. Then delete all the project.pj references through the source tree.

3. Finally, check the project in as a new member.

This doesn't address what I suspect is a pivotal part of your request, though: You don't keep any history with the above steps. Change package history will likely never be migratable, but there is a request to handle project and member archive history in such a migration, under feature request RFC 617130. Please contact PTC Integrity Support and have yourself added to this RFC.

Kael
