Adhoc access rules based on Lifecycle roles.

Adhoc access rules based on Lifecycle roles.

All,
We have user in two lifecycle roles OWNER and Approver in one of the
states Under Review. OWNER role has Full control rights and Approver role
has Read, Download only in Under Review state for the lifecycle.
Currently user cannot checkout the object even though he is creator of the
object. I was expecting maximum privileges based on the two roles.
Does Lifecycle adhoc access rules give minimum privileges of the two
roles? Is there any setting to change that behaviour?

Thanks,
Prathap

Seemed that OWNER gave very unpredictable results when we tried to methodically test a while back - we decided not to use at all...

I just noticed that Owner role doesn't have any participants in Lifecycle
state. So the user is only creator of the doucment and not owner. Owner
has to be explicitly mapped to Creator actor in roles tab.

Certain objects are owned. parts, cad docs and docs are not owned.

Prathap,

My suggestion is to avoid Advanced life cycles as much as possible, to
grant permissions add or remove user from groups, and give the groups access
permissions from the policies.
