I've been setting up a development laptop with 2003 server and PDMLink. I used the host file to fake a machine and domain name to the local host address 127.0.0.1. The host file looks something like this:
127.0.0.1 localhost
127.0.0.1 machine_name machine_name.some_name.some_name.com
I'm now trying to register ProE to the server and it's not happy. Evidently something to do with not resolving the domain.
After looking around for some solution to the problem I have a couple of possibilities and am wondering if any of you have tried these. I'd rather not have to configure a virtual machine.
Possible solution are:
configure the Microsoft loopback adapter
Install and configure one of the network switching apps
Set up an alternate configuration in tcp/ip
Any suggestions?
