On the weekend we just "updated/upgraded"to the following:
- Windchill 9.1 M050 PDMLink/ProjectLink on a
- HP BL 460c G6 (Linux 5.4 ES OS)
- 2X Intel X5570 Quad Core
- 48 GIG RAM
- 10 GIGE built-in
- moved users to Active Directory with jndiAdapter to Directory Server
- Oracle 11G R2
- HP BL 460c G6 (Linux 5.4 ES OS)
- 2X Intel X5570 Quad Core
- 48 GIG RAM
- 10 GIGE built-in
- New ProE CAD Worker with 6 local independent workers
- HP BL 460c G6 (Windows 2008 Server 64bit)
- 48 GIG RAM
- 10 GIGE built-in
- All Blade servers on a BL C7000 Enclosure
- ProCurve 10G Switch for blade communication
- 1 GIG downgrade adapter for our legacy 1G core
We upgrade from:
- 2 HP Integrityservers rx2660 (HP-UX itanium OS 11.23i) respective for both Oracle10G and Windchill 9.0 M050
We preformed the update by first bringing Windchill to 9.0 M080 and installing additional components with WC090M080 then applying the Windchill 9.1 M050 as a service pack with the additional pseudo upgrade to schema and data load.
Issues:
- Windchill 9.1 M050 installing additional components would fail if components require a data load.
- Windchill Server Workgroup manager collector has issues with the default "required" configuration. It would leave the advance collector table blank. Had to go into site preferences and change the" Include dependent CAD / Dynamic Documents" to a locked value of NONE or ALL.
- Setup Participants functionality has changed to use a resource pool which is default to nothing.
- The schrolling of the tables with refresh is causing some grief with users.
Benefits:
- the servers alone were a huge performance gain with 3 foreground method servers and 3 background (default, WVS1 & WVS2).
- Visualization publishes more successful in finding parts
Are there any other issues that we should be aware of?
Thanks guys.
