Can I change state of an approved ECR back to Under Review?

Intralink 9.1 M050

Hi Gang,

May be a basic question, but the CM group is pretty much on autopilot here and I never have to deal with this aspect of the process/solution.

My CM resource accidently "Approved" an ECR and she wants me to set the state back to "Under Review" so she can "Reject" it this time.

I am full blown orgadmin

Any insight?

Thanks,

David T. Francis

Do you just need to set the state or do you need to push the workflow
back so she can reject it in the process?

If you just need to set the state, you can create a "Set State" workflow
and initiate it against the object using the workflow administrator.

If you need to push back an executed process, you may need to set the
state of the ECR back to the beginning lifecycle state so the process
can start over.

Hope this helps,

Can also essentially do the same as Set State by using Re-Assign Lifecycle. Need to select the Lifecycle, then can select the starting state. As others commented, be aware of what state the Workflow is associated with (e.g. Open).

In 10.0 you can Set State - however if you plan to use this frequently
you might consider breaking the workflow in per state workflows
depending on your need. If it is an occasional administrative thing you
are ok. If you will do this in the process consider breaking up the
workflows (there are other benefits to smaller per state workflows such
as easier to manage and work with - the downside being passing workflow
attributes is a pain)

I would really avoid revisioning Change objects unless you have a really
good case for it - it adds a lot of complexity.

I don't see why not since it is just a request and not the notice. As long as you catch it before you applied it to the change notice. There are always some administration resets because items accidentally gets approved.

If you are an ORG admin, you can always do a Set State on the Object to a specific state.

Are you able to Set State from Implementation (or Resolved) to Under Review and push out a task to additional CRB members? Use case is 5 CRB members already approved the ECR but after the ECR was approved, the team realized a 6th Approver was required. How can we obtain approval 1. without terminating the existing approvals, and 2. without restarting the workflow and requiring the full team to re-approve?
