Use Case: I tried vilate mount in Windchill 9.0 but I couldn't do that and get the below message "Some mounts are incorrect" I checked a vault and relate folder and there were no any suspects. How to fix this?

Is this a new build of Windchill 9.0 or an update from an earlier version?

Windchill 9 is very much out-of-date!

This is an old one.
we have to resolve this and then will upgrade to latest version.

Is your Host system correct?

Is the Path correct as shown in the Vault Configuration under Main Folders?

Check that you can access the vault mount point.

Maybe a screen shot might help.

Your upgrade from Windchill 9 will take multiple steps and upgrades. I know you cannot go beyond 11.2 before going to 12 or 13. I am not sure what you need to go to from 9 as the intermediate step.

Here is a screen.

I've seen a similar issue on my end with virtual hostnames. There can be many issues as to why it cannot validate the mount. Needs to have write access. Needs to have that mount status file inside of it.  The one thing that got me is that the IP address that the system returns from the HOST need to match. In my case I had it as localhost but Windchill was reporting the OS IP address and they did not match. I had to edit the hosts files to align them and then it validated.

For a mount to validate...

  1. Broadcasting must be successful.
  2. The mount path must exist: //arch/ptc_vault/20190805.
  3. The user account that runs Windchill must have read/write permissions to the mount path.  To test, write a file to the UNC path as that user.
  4. Before 12.1, there cannot be a site_* file from another Windchill instance in the MOUNT_VALIDATION_FOLDER.  Delete the file and try to validate again: //arch/ptc_vault/20190805/MOUNT_VALIDATION_FOLDER/site_*.
  5. If Windchill is configured for HTTPS, install Windchill's SSL Cert with the Windchill file vault server as named in Site > Utilities > Vault Configuration.
