Clustered Acrhictecture File view / retrival

Help required on master server & file server setup rules. When pointed to Master server, the folder page with content files get viewed faster (in secs), when pointed to Local file server it takes more time in minutes. Replication synchronization is already done and happens upon check in. Has any one faced this in PDMLink 9.1 M020

The system administrator guide has introduce the data synchronise , but there is a complete example to show how it works. So I wish ptc give more information about that!
