DELETING FAMILY TABLE INSTANCES

Why is it impossible to delete files in WindChill after you have removed instances from a family table to make them stand-alone parts? Why does WindChill put you through this ridiculous maze of "delete this first, then that second"?

Does anybody out there have a clue how to help me with this ongoing problem?

Hi Bill,

All items in windchill have strong relationship constraints. "Structure", "change", "CAD-Drawings" relations have to be broken in order to be able to delete one item. And there is one more that could be more difficult to retrieve: the history.

Some times, some items were linked in the past, so the previous revisions-iterations has to be deleted too.

In order to be able to delete some item, you could create a folder and put into all the linked items, and use the Purge manager tool to set what will be deleted in this folder.
