Desktop Integration

I am doing some testing on Desktop Integration for PDMLink 9.1 M060. I have a concern about something.


I can search for files just fine. The modification part is what concerns me.


The process is to search for the file and open it. If you need to revise it then you need to do that first. If you make your modifications first, save it and THEN revise it the modifications will be lost. If the users revise first then everything is fine. But I just know someone will forget and make their modifications first followed by revising the document.


Has everyone that is using Desktop Integration found this to be a problem?

Missing something. Doesn't seem like there is any difference for this specific set of steps vs. manipulating documents thru the browser.

Mike,

I do not believe we will modify the document through the Internet Explorer browser. The problem I see there is when it is downloaded the file gets renamed. It adds [1] to the file name. Not only that but it replaces any spaces with underscores.
