If I want to transfer files to a laptop and work on then and then re-import them into my workspace, what's the best way to do that?

Should I use export from workspace, move the files to the laptop, then move them back and re-import to the workspace?
I'm thinking this is the only option if the laptop is never connected to the windchill server.
If you've done this, do you have any best practices?
Make Workspace Available Off-Line
If the laptop is connected to the windchill server I am guessing I should set the workspace to be available off-line before shutting down Pro/E. After I reconnect I assume I can uncheck available off-line, and everything will update properly.
Do you have any best practices for this?
