Unfortunately, all examples I have seen assume too much background knowledge. They are not for the beginner. Where is the "Getting Started Guide for Developing Windchill Event Listeners"? We need to know:
1) Where to put the source code?
2) Which package to use?
3) Which jar files to include?
4) How to compile it?
5) Where to put the class file?
6) How to register it?
7) How to use xConfManager to update wt.properties?
8) How to restart Windchill so MethodServer will find it at startup?
8) How to test and debug the code?
The closest thing I've found is
Windchill Customizer’s Guide (9.1 MR070):
It is an older version when PTC used to support customization. Unfortunately, they now refuse to support it in the versions since then and even obscured all the figures in above document, presumably so you are forced to buy training from them.
The Specialized Administration guide has some of your answers.
The 9.1 Customization Guide is still valid for some of issues. It has a good section on where to put customizations. I kept a copy with my WC11 docs.
Thanks. The link answers question 7. Does your copy of the 9.1 Customization Guide have the figures obscured? If not, can I get a copy of it?
My copy is complete with figures. Most of the figures I compared that have been obscured deal with WC modeling using Rational Rose and that is no longer used since WC 10.
There are 3 or 4 Administration type guides that are now with Windchill 11 that have the information you need. It may take some digging, but the information is in there.
If you still want the 9.1 Customization Guide, shoot me an email to looslib<at>centrusenergy.com.
