How to count types of Files in Windchill

Hello.

Have a situation where we want to find out exact number of objects of different type are in Windchill.

For Example:

1. Number of EPMDocuments (Latest as well as All)

2. WTDocuments (Specifically there are a series of Soft Types)

Has anyone written a script.

I can only think to use the Search Tool to search by Type... Any other Ideas?
