Intralink 9.1 - Deleting a User

Good day 'chillers,

Two questions regarding deleting a User in Intralink 9.1:

1. Before deleting a User, is there an easy one-stop-shopping method for determining how entrenched that User was in the Windchill system, e.g. what Product Teams he was on, what Role he played, what objects he owned, etc.?

2. If it is impractical orimpossible to fully determine how entrenched a User was in the Windchill system, are the potential negative consequences of deleting the User so great as to just adopt the rule of, "Never delete a User"?

TIA.

This has been discussed 1,323,632,743 times on this forum that I know of - probably many more also.

We haven't found any way to find out how "entrenched" they are. We have some query builder reports to find them in Team Templates, Context Teams, etc., and also any current workflow Assignments (need to re-assign these). Separately, need to undo checkout or check in any objects that they have checked out, and maybe delete any workspaces that they have.

Our procedure - don't delete a user. Instead, rename their "Full Name" to show that they have left.

Would be great to see a definitive recommendation by PTC on this, including a comprehensive checklist with procedures. There is a very small write-up on it in the bus admin guide, but should be expanded.
