We love solutions!
You have made it so far! Let's talk about one of the critical things to do on the PTC Community: accept a reply as a solution.
When you start a topic, you will receive replies from other members. When one of the replies is a solution to your initial inquiry, you should accept it as a solution. Just in case, we will send you an automatic reminder after a few days for you to check the replies on your topic.
Why should you consider accepting a solution?
Consider that someone actually took the time to look at your post and reply. A little acknowledgement goes a long way with marking a reply an Accepted Solution if the suggestion works for your problem. Of course, post to thank or further the conversation is a plus and always appreciated!
Additionally, posts with Accepted Solutions are returned with a higher preference by search engines on the Community. You will signal a greater value for your conversation by marking a solution. This is a strong contribution to the entire Community!
In fact, you can also search for only the conversations that have an Accepted Solutions. On any search, you can access the Advanced search. The Metadata allows you to see only the conversations solved, and / or with kudos.
I thought this would be a good place to introduce the new top solution authors component being added to the community front page and explain how it works.
Unlike the current component which gives the top solution authors community wide, the new component will give the top solution authors by product. It references the following boards when calculating the top authors.
The component looks at the 30 most recent solutions from each of theses boards to find the top authors and excludes employees.
