Intralink 9.1: Setting Access Control for User-Defined Local Team

Hello fello 'chillers,

Does anyone know where the Access Control is set for newly-created, user-defined Roles used on ProductLocal Teams?

I added a new, user-defined Role to my Product's Team (a "Local" Team; not a "Shared" Team) following these steps:

1. Go toProduct>Team

2. Click on "Add Roles to Team" icon

3. In the resulting "Add Roles to Team" dialog box, in the"Or add one or more team specifici roles" field, I enter the name of theRole that I wish to create. The name of the Role is Big_Boss.

4. Click on OK. (That added the newly-defined Role to the table of Local Team Members on my Product. No problem so far.)

Then I added Participants to that Role by doing the following:

5. Click on"Add participants to team" icon for the Role.

6. In the resulting Find Participant dialog box, I select a User to add to the Participant List and thus Assign to Role. (That User is then added to the table of my Local Team Members..., tucked under the "Big_Boss" Role. No problem so far.)

Now I want to set Access Control for that newly-created "Big_Boss" Role. Here's where my problem occurs. I can't find the "Big_Boss" Role in my Policy Administrator in order to set Access Control.

When I go to Product>Utilities>Policy Administrator, the Role of "Big_Boss" does not show up as a Principal under the Access Control tab of any of the hierarchical levels (i.e. Private, Default, or System). The other Roles listed in my Team Members table show up but not the newly-created Role of "Big_Boss".

If anyone knows where the Access Control is set for newly-created, user-defined Roles used on ProductLocal Teams, I'd love to know. PTC sure didn't make it easy to find.

If anyone else can replicate my same situation (i.e. create your own new Role then can't find where to set its Access Control), I'd like to hear that, too.

Note: My Product was created based upon the OOTB Product Template named "General Product".

TIA!

Scott,

If this role is one of the OOTB roles (you didn't edit the RBINFO file
and make additions), then check in the ORGANIZATION->ROLES tab and make
sure that the role you selected is not hidden.

Mike

Are you talking about new roles your adding to windchill?

I believe you have to use enumCustomize to do that.
