Hello,
I currently am trying to configure a windows server to ultimately replace a 7 year old Unix server as my intralink file and dataserver. Initial testing was impressive with being able to import large dump files within 20 minutes versus 8+ hours on the Unix. In the past I have been able to replace unix servers and modify the oracle tables to see the new fileserver and vault locations without problems. Now that I am trying to copy the vaults to a windows shared drive I am having failures accessing the drive. I know that there are others in the Intralink user community using windows servers. My question is how do you get around this problem. I have an open ticket with PTC and they haven't been able to find a resolution yet. Is there some initial server configuration I am missing? Ideally I want to be able to have the windows server run both data and fileservers and access a SAN mounted drive that can be grown. As it is now the dataserver will only write in the C:\ drive successfully. I found an old TPI 100341 that touched on NT servers but that is inapplicable to present needs and that workaround violates security protocols in my workplace. I did try that method and I still get the same failure that the server cannot identify the the vault path.
Error: The file vault directory path could not be created. Please check the intended vault directory path on the File Server host.
Any ideas what is causing the road block between the dataserver/fileserver and share? Any and all help would be appreciated and posted to this forum.
