There is a full import / export utility accessible from Organization / site --> utilities --> File export / import manager.

Also, if its a workflow / Lifecycle, then its available from their respective pages.

Mathias,

You need to set a property as "wt.ixb.export.formatType=PLM_FORMAT" in wt.properties.

Restart Server and try export functionality from any Import/Export applet.

Thank for your quick answers Ravin and Harshal. Do I have to expect any loss or damage of Data using the PLM XML format for data export?

Or do there appear any common problems using the PLM XML Data for working with Windchill?

Mathias,

frankly speaking, I havent faced any such loss of data or any other issues, if the data cleansing and formatting is done with utmost care.

The most common problem is the data formatting in the right column, if you use excel, as the editor.

Mathias - PLM_FORMAT does not export everything compared to the "classic" format. For instance, related to the EPM (Enterprise Product Modeling) Model (EPMDocument mainly), Family Table and Instances are not exported. It is also the case for Design Contexts (CAD Alternate Representations) as EPMReferenceLink (between Design Context Item and Filtered MDA (Main Design Assembly) is also not exported. Also please note that setting wt.ixb.export.formatType=PLM_FORMAT works mainly when considering exporting. In all cases, you can import a "Classic" jar or a "PLM Formatted" Jar whatever value is specified for wt.ixb.export.formatType...
