Is it possible to update an existing report template by QML?

I have an existing report template in our Production system that is linked to a report as well as several saved reports. I've developed a new version of it in our Development environment, and I'd like to load the updated report via QML and have everything downstream update accordingly. Is this possible?

Normal behavior when you load via QML with the same name is that it will add a 1 on the end so you end up with 2 reports
