Links To PBO When Workitems Are Archived

Our company is working on a Business Intelligence (BI) project over Windchill data. Due to limitations in the out-of-the-box reporting package, we are attempting to connect to the Oracle database directly but are finding some of the object connections difficult to identify. Is anyone else in this situation, and, if so, how did you resolve it? Specifically, we are needing to make links to PBO and the tasks when Workitems are archived. Any help would be appreciated!

* Until Windchill 10.0, Work Items are deleted (controlled by a preference, default is to delete them for one user at a time, when they reach 200 for that user, subject to the Work Item being "finished)". Because of this, reports on Work Items are not usable for completed work. See queue dedicated to this:

* As of Windchill 10, the preference default changed to NO - see below.

* In general, you may be better off reporting on the various tables which result from the execution of Workflow Processes, especially WFVotingEventAudit. It's a bit tricky to get the right types and joins, but it's still better to do this thru Windchill (e.g. Query Builder or IE) rather than directly to the database.

* One related note: If you choose not to delete Work items, the Work Items table grows without limit; an index is needed on this table to avoid major performance degradation when displaying the History - Routing/Process table. We recently added this index.
