Making BOM Line Number required in PDMLink 9.1

Folks,

Are there any configuration options (or other ways) to force the use of Line Numbers in BOM’s in Windchill 9.1?

Due to our integration with ERP they are a requirement for us, and I am trying to avoid customizing the BOM edit screen.

I cannot find anything in the admin guides or system help and have opened a tech support call, just thought I should try here too.

Thanks,

We plan to leave them blank until RTP, then auto populate them as part of
the RTP process.

For us, the line numbers are not significant, so we can renumber any
blanks in a BOM update.

We use the line numbers on the BOM to correspond to balloons on General Arrangement drawings, but we don’t show the BOM on the face of the drawing. The “Engineering” BOM is passed to ERP and no changes are allowed to it, only additions at the manufacturing/branch plant level. Not having the BOM on the drawing allows the same drawing to be used for many similar assemblies, and gains us some efficiency. But it makes the numbers very significant and we need to force their use and maintenance.
