Manage Security checkboxes disabled

We are trying to understand the ACLs required to get the Manage Security settings to work on an essentially OOTB WC 9.1 installation.
We have a library context with a set of subfolders. We want the Library Manager to have the ability to grant specific permissions to specific users or groups for specific subfolders. Whenever the library manager accesses the Manage Security page, all of the checkboxes are greyed out. The OOTB ACLs should allow these checkboxes to be changed shouldn't they? We don't see an ACL that would restrict this. Any ideas? Has anyone else had trouble with Manage Security?

Hi John, you are in luck.

Site>Utilities>Preference Manager

Then select Access Permission Configuration (PDM)

You can set each permission to allow allowed users to Update, Read or Hide the various privileges.

Then they will not be all grayed out except for the ones that are already set by your team ACL access.

You may also want to check the Role "Team Members". Any permission granted here is given to all roles, and the boxes are grayed out.

If you want to have individual control over the various roles, that permission in Team Members has to be cleared first.
