We have 2 Intralink databases (3.4 M011) need to be migrated to windchill 10.x . Instead of doing 2 times windchill migration, we have planned to migrate the identified Root Folder data from one Intralink database (source) to another Intralink database (Target) using package replication . Target Intralink server will be a consolidated Intralink server for Windchill migration. Before Package replication, we have renamed the Source Intralink data with suffix '_33' to avoid same name conflicts during the Package replication.
Target Intralink server will be a Production Intralink server for some time (6 months or 1 year ) to remodel the CAD data and regular design work . After complete the remodeling, this server will be migrated to Windchill 10.x .
During the remodeling , designer need to edit the replicated data and CheckIn to Target server but replicated data is not able to CheckIn due to replicated branch and its required to create a sub branch for modification. Creating sub branch is not supported for Windchill migration .
Customer is expecting to work only in the Target server and planned to discontinue the Source server after all the source data replicated to Target server.
Here we are expecting solution to change the replicated main branch to local / Target server main branch for allowing designer to CheckIn without creating a sub branch and its should not affect for the Windchill migration as well.
Please share the solution to handle this technical issues.
