Missing Workflow Routing Options

Missing Workflow Routing Options

I have an issue where I am kicking off a workflow from within a project and the routing "radio buttons" are missing from the assigned workflow task. If I kick off this same workflow from a library or product context, the buttons are available.

Has anyone seen this? Any ideas what I need to do to correct it?

In the past, when we ran into this issue, it had to do with some missing required variables. As far as I am aware, I have all the necessary variables on this workflow. I'm stumped.

We are on 8.0 M050.

Any help is greatly appreciated,

Hi Dax,

I think that teher is something strange in Projects with this behaviour. Try checking as "required" the participant of the Task in the Workflow editor.

Yes, we have experienced this issue in WC 7.0 and 8.0. ProjectLink routings
use Project context team. Workflows initiated in PDM use process team. The
rationale behind this design was to maintain / carry the Project Level
security policies defined for projects to Workflows. However this feature
has changed in 9.0 and beyond.

We solved this problem by adding the code within the workflow to create an
instance of the Project Context Team, and assign this team as the process
team for the workflow (Roles must match). Solution would work only under the
assumption that Project team (roles and members) assigned to the process do
not differ between the Project and Process instance throughout the period of
process execution.

You might need to reevaluate the above solution when you upgrade to WC 9.0 +

Thanks to all who responded.

The missing task radio buttons ended up having to do with the "Required" check box not being checked as Iker pointed out. Apparently, a check is required when the workflow is to be initiated from within a project context.
