PDMLink Flowchart

I'm needing to build a flowchart so some of our "slower" users get understand how to use PDMLink. Our install is just a basic out of the box (for the most part). Does anyone have something like this that they would be willing to share in an editable format? I don't know as it has to be in a flowchart form. Just something for me to start with so I make sure I think of all the different rat holes they can go down.

Thanks in advance,

John

John,

It would be helpful to better understand the general process flow you are trying to document. Depending on the role of the users and their required participation/tasks, the "flow" can vary dramatically. For instance, if they are casual participants in a workflow process, then they can respond to assignments delivered via email since they may not be "living" in the system to monitor their task list. If they are "power users" leveraging CAD data management, you need to get them properly trained - a simple flowchart isn't going to replace proper user adoption. Another thing to consider is the use of "profiles" to tailor the UI/actions to user roles (assuming they are consistent across contexts)- this would help simplify the UI to be more purpose-built (and help limit hunting for actions, etc.).

Hope this helps...

You are absolutely right - the role does make a difference if you want
to document everything. I'm really just needing a sheet that reminds
people what to do next when checking things out, uploading, releasing
and other common everyday steps. I got some great feedback from a lot
of different people. I thought I would share the one attached because
it covered so much. Most likely I will take a little from each of the
examples I got and make one of my own but this really helped.

Thanks everyone,
