We recently migrated to Windchill PDMLink 9.0 and are re-launching with
9.1 in a week
Our pre-PDMLink process required the creation of PDF's which were
published to a network location that our non-engineering users could
access to view our released drawings by accessing the PDF.
Our intent was to have PDMLink push a Production PDF to the network
location during the Change Notice process. The CN is approved, a PDF is
created and saved on the network.
We also intend to use ProductView for markups. You open a drawing in
ProductView and can markup the drawing, save to PDF and the object
becomes an associated file to the source drawing.
Apparently these two goals are counterproductive. If you out put a PDF,
you cannot mark it up in ProductView. The hpgl out put that ProductView
needs for mark ups is not a PDF. Converting the hpgl into a PDF seems
to be a challenge.
Is anyone else dealing with this type of issue? Do you create PDF's of
your drawings for publishing? Are you using ProductViews mark up tool?
Any suggestions how to make these two actions compatible?
