Does anyone have any experience with these objects? If so, can you share some examples of how you use them.
After reading the 'Help' files, it sounds to me as if the Part Instances carry specific Lot/Serial Number values for parts, and that they get gathered together by Part Configurations to represent unique Next Assemblies. But if I create a Part Configuration from an assembly, and populate it based on the assembly structure, do I also need a Part Instance of that assembly to pin my traceability values on?
It seems like these objects and the One-Off Version would give you a lot of flexibility in tracking fielded hardware that has been altered from the print. But I still need a couple of case studies to really wrap my mind around it.
