There is no OOTB tool to do this. You are talking specifically about EPMDocuments right? There should be no impact on any of the links. Subtypes (or are you talking soft-types?) should only impact the attribute mapping. I've done changing of soft-types on WTDocs and WTParts via a customization. Never have tried EPMDocs. What specifically are you looking at? If not too much, you can consider creating a new object as right type and swapping out.
We have some of the EPM Documents for ex: created as EPM Document>CAD Document> soft-type1 that needed to be changed to a different soft-type for ex: EPM Document>CAD Document>soft-type2. These EPM documents have associated WTParts, CAD Drawings, Family table. Not sure if there is any OOTB tool that can help to ensure these relationships remain intact after changing the type of the EPM document.
We do not want to create a new copy of the EPM Document as we still have to retain the versions and associated objects and relationships intact.
We are looking for any ootb tool or we need to customize it.
Thanks in advance.

I think this is exactly what you need. I did not even know they built this.
Command Line Management of Subtyping
I find myself uncertain about what exactly is subtype vs. soft-type?
Also, what I understand we have defined in Type and Attribute management as WTDocument subtypes, is that something that could be changed for WTDocs with a command line utility such as you linked there?
