Is there any way to rename multiple components (which are un-related) in commonspace in PDMLink 10.0? I have multiple objects which I want to rename according to our CAD standrad which are unrelated and I dont want to rename it picking one by one.
PS - I tried using Clipboard but wasn't the solution.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Jay
This was not included in 9.1 for PTC and it is also not included in 10.0. We put in a second enhancement request for this funtionality which is #8237135.
Yes, but there used to be the “Briefcase” where you could put a bunch of parts and then do perform edits. It’s disappointing that didn’t get carried over, it was useful.
They have a “Clipboard” now but there’s no functionality in it.
My suggestion as an alternative for the briefcase is Search. E.g. when you add multiple Name fields to search on in an advanced search, you can collect in one go all the objects you want to work on.

(If links do not work copy and paste in address bar)
Hugo, Yes, a search allows you too see everything, but No you cannot rename multiple objects from the search results. Very frustraiing!
I just noticed that I forgot to mentione that I created an all in one product idea for this so you cna vote on it:
