We have several variants of aproduct that share a large number of common components. We are weighing the options of storing all of the components in a single product container or breaking them out into separate product containers based on the variant.
I'm leaning toward storing all of the components, for one variant, in a single product container including the common components. The other containers would only contain the different components for that variant.
Separate containers would make it easier to tailor access control and change management based on the different product variants; however, it would complicate administration of the product.
Would anyone like to share their experiences with product containers and multiple product configurations? What do you see as the pros and cons of single versus multiple containers? Thanks in advance.
