TK Linking to WS with Windchill

I have an existing TK app that links to a workspace (IL3.4) For the
link to work the pdm_ldb_path env variable needs set. We are migrating
to Windchill. When you create a worksspace is the PDM_LDB_Path still
relevent? Is that workspace truly local?

Mark,
Workspaces in ProI behave differently in Windchill. Read the Pro/TOOLKIT API Wizard under User's Guide->Data Management: Windchill and Pro/INTRALINK Operations. This will guide you through the steps to connect to WC and register a workspace. The workspace is both local and server side. To work with an object in ProE it must be downloaded to the local workspace. As far as the PDM_LDB_PATH variable the new one for WC is PTC_WF_ROOT.

As far as I know you can't create a workspace with the API while Pro/E is in full visible mode. You can only create it if Pro/E started with the Batchmode Option. The only way to create one programaticly while Pro/E is full visible is a mapkey.

Has someone other excperiences with this thematics ?

Best regards,

Eike
