Updating Oracle hostname for exisitng WNC

Hi Fellow Windchillers,

As a test installation have Windchill 10.1 M030 successfully running on a server(say- wncserver) with Oracle11g on the same machine. We have another machine (with a different hostname- say oracleserver) which has Oracle11g installed on it. Want to update the existing Windchill installation such that the - wncserver connects to the new oracleserver. Have tried using the PTC user manuals and they suggest steps which involve restarting the installation process and then it will prompt user for the new oracleserver details.

Please let me know if this is the only way or the new oracle connection can be achieved by updating wt.properties and/or db.properties or any similar updations.

Thanks,
Amol

Good afternoon Fellow Windchillers,
Thanks to Carsten Lawrenz - Kalypso for his valuable inputs about this topic!!
For connecting Windchill to a new Oracle server have to perform the following:

1. Install Oracle11g on the new "oracleserver", run PSI which does the OCU

2. On the Windchill server update db.properties for wt.pom.jdbc.host with new "oracleserver"
Further to this information:
Have a fresh Oracle11g installation on the new "oracleserver" and on running PSI and selecting standalone component and then selecting oracle the OCU begins but gives error ORA-01920. Did look up for this error and they suggest changing the user name. On changing the user name for Oracle say for e.g. system to wcadmin etc. still getting the same error. Have checked the LISTENER and it is working fine. Any suggestions?
Attached please find the OCU log.

Have a nice day!

Thanks,
Amol
