Upgrading to SQL Server 2008R2 from 2005 for 10.1 PDMLink Upgrade from 9.2 M020.

We are working through the instructions to upgrade our system to 10.1, and I can't find any instructions relating to migrating the database from the 2005 server to the 2008R2. My assumption is it's a backup export from 2005 and dump into 2008R2. The instructions in the PTC guides only point to creating a new 2008R2 instance, even in the upgrade guides. Anyone run into this? What did you do?

The SQL Server Install and Planning guide has instructions on upgrading from SQL Server 2005 to 2008. The recommendation is to use instructions from Microsoft to upgrade SQL Server prior to upgrading Windchill to 10.1
