Using OOTB workflows for CAD Data management

Hi,

Has anybody used the OOTB workflows that come with Windchill for CAD data
management? We are looking to do a small pilot with 10.1 and Creo 2.0 and
don't want to spend a bunch of time designing new stuff. If the OOTB stuff
is adequate for basic tasks, that would be ideal.

The intent would be to prove the basic application interaction and
suitability to move forward.

Yeah, 10.1 Promotion workflows (simple) have been enhanced and you can control their functionality via some Site>Preferences to meet basic needs.

You will probably end up wanting to make some small changes as they can at times have a big impact. I would just hire someone to do it for you if that's the case. There won't be a learning curve and it'll probably just be an hour or two of work depending on your needs. You can cut down on the consulting costs by mapping out EXACTLY what you want done in Visio (user choices included).
