Hello,
I'm trying to establish a validation mechanism for the Part Creation process. I have an attribute (Attribute1), that somehow should filter the valid options for the Part Classification tree. Specifically, I need to ensure that the selection made in the "Attribute1" dropdown aligns with the chosen value(s) in the Classification Tree. Although I understand Classifications don't inherently support cascading attributes, I'm looking for a method to achieve this cross-validation.
I am aware that Windchill 12 allows you to create a namespace to manage the Classification tree by type/subtype, which already filters some of the Classification nodes, but it does not complete the validation I am looking to achieve.
Any thoughts on how to implement this validation given the limitations of cascading attributes in Classifications? Has anyone solved a similar problem before?
Also, Part Classification might be multi-value, we will need to validate the relationships between these values. Additionally, is it also possible to validate the individual values themselves?
